9th STC India Annual Conference had something special and unique…

Uniqueness –> G O A

Many of the writers including me didn’t even believe that we had a conference @ Goa…but it did happened and hats off to everyone who made it possible.

October 24

As usual, I was there on the night before pre-conference workshop. Took the flight @ Delhi -> 4.00 pm… landed in Goa @ 6 pm… breathed nice fresh warm air

Took a taxi and was out in the midst of the lovely hills to reach my hotel, all the way enjoying the date with the sea breeze…

Checked-into the hotel, refreshed and had a fantastic typical Goan dinner at a restaurant and went to sleep 11 pm (oh yeah, I was dead tired, didn’t sleep on Tuesday nite, had to deliver some docs)

October 25

Took an auto in the morning to the venue, kinda closeby…around 5 km from our hotel. Met lotsa old friends and started settling for the pre-conference.

Got call/SMS from most of my friends, informing about their time of arrival in Goa…most of them were there to attend the inauguration ceremony in the evening – 6.30 pm…

I was one of the lucky guys to light the lamp and inaugurate the conference, it was a great honor to be there…

Rajdeep joined soon and we left to our room.

Came to the room @ 9.30 pm after having a good dinner at Cidade Goa.

Took a Splendor for rent (100 Rs for the night) and went out in the night to explore GOA…filled with 100 Rs petrol…

First we left for Calangute Beach – 15 km from our hotel. On the way saw a nice shop (road side apparel)…I got a nice military shorts (200 INR) and Rajdeep got a nice white shirt (150 INR), we both changed to our Goan look and went inside the sea.

Was there till 1 am…just walking thru the sea shore, and enjoying the full moon…

At 1 am, left for nearby beach – Baga beach, nothing special so rode back to room. Reached at 2 am.

October 26

Woke up @ 6 am, went out to watch the Sunrise @ Dona Paula beach…

Came back and spent some time @ Miramar beach, met Manjunath near the beach and went to the sea shore and spent some time there…

Back to room, refresh, went to conference @ 9.30 am…started attending the sessions and in the evening went to Mandovi river for a Cruise in the ship…started at 8 pm and was out by 11 pm.

October 27

Morning 6 am got up, me, Rajdeep, Swami and Shalini went out for Old Goa. Visited some nice churches and the famous Fort.

Back to room, refresh, checked out @ 10 and rushed to the conference. Had good lunch and left the hotel @4.30 pm.

Ankur, me and Shalini took a cab to the Airport. We had our flight @ 6.35 pm. We were there @ Airport by 5.30 pm and saw a huge queue. Indigo airline’s server was down and ppl were doing everything manually…

But a good thing about Indigo, they maintain the timing strictly. Flight took off @ 6.40 pm and landed at 8.45 pm @ Delhi.
