  7. HEY U ALL RAHMAN FANS,
MUST BE EAGERLY WAITING FOR SOMETHING NEW,EXCITING AND SOULFUL MUSIC OF A R RAHMAN

    IN GURU.
    I WAS,
AS THERE IS NO GOOD MUSIC SCORE DONE BY A R RAHMAN SINCE THE TIME OF saathiya.
BEFOR 12-13 YEARS I WAS THRILLED TO HEAR THE SOULFUL MUSIC OF ROJA.
THEN IT WAS THE TURN OF bombay-dil se-yuva………
MASMERISING MUSIC, GREAT BEATS AND UNBELIEVABLE FUSION OF INDO WESTERN CREAM.
but this time trio of mani ratnam-a r rahman-gulzar are not up to their mark.
we had expected better music from rahman………
but guru is nowhere near his talent, ability and originality in GURU.
DEAR RAHMAN, I WAS READY TO BECOME EVEN A PEON OR A JAADUWALA IN UR MUSIC STUDIO…..DUE TO UR EXTRAORDINARY MUSIC TALENT……….
BUT SAME AS SACHIN TENDULKAR OR MAHENDRA DHONI, U R OUT OF FORM NOW A DAYS……..
Do u remember the melodious compositions of ROJA, BOMBAY, OR DIL SE?? WELL IT WAS MAGIC RAHMAN AND MANI RATNAM. BUT IF U EXPECT SAME FROM GURU TOO, THAN MY DEAR FRIENDS, U WD B DISAPPOINTED. THERE IS NOTHING EXTRA/SPECIAL IN IT.
SONG jaage hai der tak is nice blend of indo western symphony. But don’t u agree with me that the symphony is heard somewhere before?! Other wise the pain and depth of rahman’s voice is mesmerizing……….no doubt, the best song of the album.
Do u remember the foot stepping beats of “COLLEGE KE SAATHI” from Dunia Dilwaloki? OR CHORI PE CHORI from SAATHIYA?? Baazi lagaa is just like the remix or refreshed version of that beats, with better lyrics from gulzar. Sweetness of udit’s voice makes the song somewhat melodious. May be the song is going with some situation of the storyline. Sudden change of track is rahman’s old habit in songs. It was experimented in many songs before also.
The most melodious song of the album is Heyrat-E-ashiqui due to nice composition and sweetness of alka yagnik, rahman and hariharan’s voice. But unfortunately the beats are almost same like the KEHNA HI KYA of Bombay. The lyric is the soul of this song is quite new kind of.
MAYYA is the second versions of SATRANGI RE of dil se. do u remember the style and composition of antra with husky voice…ISHK PAR ZOR NAHIN, HAI YE VO AATISH GAALIB? The style, rhythm and the beats are same, some Arabic flavors are added. Gujrati folk music is rich with variety of high pitch songs. But unfortunately rahman has mixed here ZARMAR ZARMAR VARSE MEHULO very ugly way with Arabian YA HABIBI. O dear rahman, I wanted u to work on some original Gujrati song after hearing MARO HELO SAAMBHLO JI in background music of BOMBAY….
Chor-Chor was very innovative experiment by rahman before 10 years. But the lyrics of HAATHI MERE PYAARE SAATHI were very stupid. Now in GURU same beats are used in ek lo ek muft , but with different lyricist and singer. Improved version of HAATHI MERE SAATHI by all mean. But doesn’t sound new…… Afghani music instrument Rabab was played very nicely in telephone dhun. Same is used in this song. But we must be thankful to rahman for bhappida’s come back as a singer. We were missing him since long. Well come back bhappida.
One album was scored for a film of Minakshi sheshadri and a south Indian MOTU by rahman. The lyrics were very funny and stupid LIKE “DILKA RAJA MERA RAJAA MOTE RAJAA, PYARE BALAM LAGTA HAI TU RASGULLE SA”
In that album, so it was the biggest flop of those days. So the beats of that movie album is recycled by rahman in BARSO RE MEGHA … in guru. VAA VAAYANE VAADAL UMATYAA is itself

very nice folk song of Gujrati, but only one small piece is used here.
The most highlighted song dam Tara dam Tara it self is a remix version of JIYA JALE JAA JALE……..from dil se and KEHNA HI KYA from BOMBAY. MELODIOUS, BUT NOTHING NEW IN IT. Problem with rahman fans like us is: if rahman sings ABCDEFG, we would appreciate.
So dear rahman, please sing or compose ABCDEFG better way next time…. Love u, appreciate u very much dear. U are NOT ONE song WONDER like Jatin Lalit, RESHAMIYA OR ANU MALIK, but the only MUSIC COMPOSER OF THE NATION TODAY. SO WE EXPECT SOMETHING NEW AND INNOVATIVE EVERYTIME.

  9. Yes.. the songs are pathetic, not to the standards at all.
It looks like we have heard these music before. Its like our old patriotic songs reinvented with new music.
I had heard AR Rehman copies music I guess its true now.

  10. nothing exceptionally great or up to AR Rahman standards, which fortunately or unfortunately is the ‘default expectation’ from thousands of fan like me,

Agreed more or less with the comments here from Dr. Joban Modha, the 7th comment

  11. Hi,
I agree with you guys when you say that the music is not as great as some of his earlier work.
But Dr Joban Modha is out of his / her fucking mind and does not understand jackshit about music .. none of the songs are rehashes of his earlier songs.. so before you guys comment on any songs, think at least 700 times, because you guys are talking through your asses and are absolutely uninformed about music.

  12. Samir, But why are you speaking from its hole.
I can name many of his old songs were really good, but this time he is not up to the mark.
You have to accept it. Just you flattering here will not make the music a big hit.

Why do you have to think 700 times to know its music. It comes instantly … may be couple of times to know if the songs are good or not.

Except Tere Bina rest are ordinary

  18. kids. Listen up. It isn’t actualy rahman who is having a decline. Its in ur minds. I’m not being sarcastic but in a whole way, production, and technology has vastly improved. Rahman had the best equpiments even from the beginning of his music carrer. I know this because unlike most of you i come from the south, where Roja was actualy made. His style that was completely different from the others was something no one expected. But rahman had a very indepth understanding of how film music should be, that coupled with his experience in synthesizer, his most favoured equipment, and his pious and deep understanding of carnatic, sufi and eastern music.
a Combination of all these meant he could take very melodious tunes, yet we understand that any music director at that time could do this. What rahman had as an advantage was his good understanding of sound producing and his wanting to always package those tunes in the most breathtaking way possible
Hearing each of his new albums at that time was like being in heaven because we were totally surrounded by mediocarity and low quality audio makings. Rahman was an exception
I don’t think he has lost any of that touch, He has infact matured because instead of stivking to his old style of creating very simple songs, rahman now creates immensely complex sounds and tunes that average music listeners find hard to digest. This why many rahman songs nowadays are not likeable at first hearing
My advice is to never review a rahman album the day u buy it. U have to listen to the songs a couple of times, using really good speakers,to understand the finer nuances of his composition
Another added fact is that the way youngsters view composing has changed thnx largely to rahman again
young composers nowadays add as much technology and synthesized samples to their simple tunes to make the songs rahmanish, and so today we have lots of competition.
During those days, it was only rahman’s songs dat had a very good amount technology inserted, and so each one of it sounded different.

Tere bina is same in genre, and not style to the song in bombay featuring manisha koirala. This is beacuse it is a qawwali number made to pay homage to nusrat fateh ali khan. Rahman has carefully set the tunes to appreciate all of nusrat’s style and singing;which is why rahman singing sound slightly different and vastly improved. The dam dara dam part is a style of opening a song taken from nusrat fateh ali khan and another very old south indian composer. Dil se’s jiya jale, is based on an old sanskrit bhajan like tune that originates from keral, in which a song starts with a few devotional chants along with a wailing singing style followed by thumping percussions
Tere bina is made to flow effortlessly, and the art of sufi is injected with rahman slowly changing from a higher pitch to a lower one, along with the use of sargams in the interlude. If tere bina is a remix, then which old rahman song does chinmayee’s crooning towards the middle and ending of the song come from? Stop even trying. A.R.Rahman singlehandedly bbuilt his reputation with his own hardwork, don’t even think of calling it over, cause rahman knows what he is doing.
Ay hairathe, also has the same style of nusrat fateh ali khan in which an accordian is played before the singer styarts his round, and it has been really well composed by rahman. the song has to the lyrics of Hazrat Amir Khushroo’s Ay Sarbathe Aashiqui which Gulzar had modified

Barso re is an intro number for aish n the movie. The song gives a rajashtani feel and is composed in a such a manner to help the picturisation. Rahman’s use of shreya goshal has caused many to think of it as a remixed version of another of his songs. It is jz a habit of rahman who always searches for vices that sound almost the same as other of his singers. The song is made to sound very occasional and dance-like with a lot of folk theme infused. The techno beat infused in it is to give the song a lile bit more edge in order to picturise aishwarya’s dancing and to make sure that it is rahman’s trademark
Mayya mayya is a song sequence shot in turkey. If u were suppose to compose for a song like dat, what flavour would u use to ensure that song sticks to its environment? Training a lebanese singer to sing a hindi song, then infusing gujerati bits to a very middle easterns styled song is not easy, and calling it a very cheap remix is very shallow minded. Dr.Jobhan, i think you’ve only rahman’s re-dubbed versions of his tamil works and that is really too little of his music which is why your perseption has never expanded, and also why you never got a call from rahman. Rahman proves his class with his fusing in mayya mayya towards the end adn the the music grows on u should explain
Baazil laga is very 1990s bollywood. And its not like a rahman composition. But hell no. The song is meant to be like that> You expect hip-hop in a movie with 1980s settings. The interludes which have very carnival feel to it is how rahmn can do a number that is totally different and yet make it his own.
Jaage hain is transbounding and haunting. The chants and the chorus are meant to echo the dreams in one man, guru bhai and also the entire nation. Enough said, Rahman did it well

    Guru is avantgade

  19. ____________________A.R. RAHMAN COPIED_________________

I am sorry to say that Rahman copies.

I am a huge fan of A.R. Rahman.Yesterday when i was listening to the track of Lion King’s ” Who do you love? who do you need when you come undone….” found similarities in opening tune of “Guzarish…” of Ghajini and theme and also background score of the total album.I have heard it several times before come to conclusion ARRahman has copied the tune of “Guzarish…”of the film Ghajini from Lion Kings track.
Now i can say most of the track of the film were inspired by the song of Lion king like “kaise mujhe..”-a track of Ghajini but Rahman somewhere used different tempo & also used different instruments to make it bollywood type.
Some variation was made by putting some new tune and feelings to it.
But it fails to prove original. This may be the work load that made him doing that. But a legend like him should not do this.

Just follow the link>>>>>>>Listen to it and believe it…
